Acrylic on canvas 90cm x 120cm
In this piece, I explored the tension between structure and erosion. I worked with a palette of cement greys, charcoals, and raw, earthy tones to evoke the feeling of a surface that has been exposed and worn over time.
As I built up the layers, I introduced warmer elements that cut through the muted background. To me, they feel like something being revealed—like fragments of wiring or hidden structures emerging after years beneath the surface.
I used thick textures and distressed layering to create a sense of weight and history. I wanted the painting to feel almost physical, as if the surface itself has been shaped by time. For me, it sits somewhere between the strength of something man-made and the quiet way nature eventually takes it back.
