Mixed media on canvas. 90cm x 120cm
The starting point for this was colour. I kept mixing browns from different tubes until I landed on this strange one — somewhere between taupe and a dusty pink-beige. No name for it, but I knew it when I saw it. I used that to build the whole structure.
The white came last. I laid it over the top because the base colour needed something to sit against. After it set up a bit, I scraped back into it in a few places. Just small moves. I wanted the piece to feel settled, not top-heavy.
There isn’t a big backstory here. I was just working, adjusting, paying attention to weight and surface. The balance is what I was after, and scraping that top layer was how I got there.
